Introducing our favorite Italian Chef!

Chef Pino Pugliano of Ciccio’s Olives is bringing the heart of Southern Italian food tradition to Oregon from the East Coast with an intimate evening full of food, wine, and authentic olive oil.

With over 30+ years of experience, Chef Pino will use fresh local ingredients (and Italian imports!) to create delicious Italian bites -- you won't go home hungry!

Enjoy a curated food and wine experience while Chef Pino delivers a dynamic presentation on the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet, the heritage of Italian olive farming, and the art of identifying authentic olive oil.

We are thrilled to share with you one of Italy’s most enjoyable traditions:
aperitivo—the practice of gathering before dinner to sip, snack, and enjoy each other’s company.

What to Expect:

  • Taste globally recognized award-winning authentic olive oil imported by Chef Pino and his wife, Laura, from their family's olive groves in Southern Italy. Seriously, you have to try this oil that received a silver medal from the World Olive Oil competition in New York.

  • Consider this evening as a pre-funk to our wine club pick up party. Unreleased wines will be poured as tastings and available for purchase.

  • You'll experience a deep dive into Southern Italy as we learn from Chef Pino about Italian cuisine, olive oil farming, and early harvest olive oil—known for its bold, vibrant character, aroma, and health benefits— all while enjoying thoughtfully selected Italian bites.

The backstory:

Chef Pino Pugliano immigrated to Pennsylvania in his 20's where he eventually courted our dear friend, Laura. Brian and Merissa attended their picturesque wedding in Pino's hometown in Southern Italy and experienced the joy of aperitvo first-hand while sitting around Pino's family's table. We are thrilled to introduce you to the founders of Ciccio's Olives. We know that, like us, you'll be captured by their genuine love for Italian lifestyle and their desire to share it with others.

Our dear friends exiting the church in style. Since this day they've founded a company, imported award-winning olive oil, and taken numerous groups on tours of Southern Italy's food and wine scene.

If you’ve ever wished an Italian would pull up a chair, dust their hands with flour, and teach you how it’s really done—this is your moment.

For the first time ever on the West Coast, Ciccio’s Olives is bringing the heart of Italian food tradition to Oregon with an intimate, hands-on educational pasta making experience.

We’ll begin where all great Italian cooking starts: extra virgin olive oil. After a guided tasting you'll learn about its centrality to the Mediterranean Diet and dive into the practices and harvesting methods that help create a high-quality olive oil, gaining understanding of how to confidently identify real olive oil among the imposters on grocery store shelves.

Then it’s time to roll up your sleeves! Under the guidance of Chef Pino, you’ll make fresh tagliatelle completely by hand, using traditional techniques passed down through generations of Italians. No machines. No shortcuts. Just simple ingredients, practiced hands, and a shared table creating something fresh to take home and enjoy with loved ones.

This isn’t just a class—it’s a celebration of tradition, flavor, and slowing down to cook the way Italians always have, complete with acclaimed Scenic Valley wines.
